Sam leaps into Bobo, a chimp in training for the space program. Along with his friend Cory, a fellow chimpanzee, he undertakes a variety of tests under the gaze of Dr Leslie Ashton (Caroline Goodall) and her director Dr Tucker (Albert Stratton).
When Dr Winger (Gary Swanson) beings taking chimps to participate in a new set of experiments, Sam realises that his tests will be fatal for Bobo and Cory. With’s Al’s help he stages a great escape, but must resolve a moral dilemma before making the final leap to freedom.
The Wrong Stuff was directed by Joe Napolitano, the ninth of his twelve episodes at the helm, and written by Paul Brown, the eleventh of his thirteen scripts for the show.
In this episode Gerry and Iain considered the utility of testing on animals.
