Hurricane – Episode 56

Hurricane was the third episode of Quantum Leap’s fourth season to air, with Sam looking to prevent what at first appears to be an accidental death. In this episode Gerry and Iain discuss the risks of spending too much time with a jealous ex.

Sam leaps into Archie, a deputy in Mississippi during a hurricane. Along with Archie’s partner Cissy (Marilyn Jones), he has to evacuate locals ahead of the storm’s arrival. Among them is his jealous ex Lisa (Tracy Kolis) and a party of hurricane enthusiasts, headed by Mark LeJeune (Richard Grove).

At the evacuation location they are joined by Cissy’s jealous ex Joe (James Morrison). When Al lets Sam know that Cissy’s life is in danger the intial assumption is that she must be saved from the storm, but a more sinister threat soon emerges as Sam races against time to save as many people as possible.

Hurricane was directed by Michael W. Watkins, the third of his six episodes. The story was by Tommy Thompson.
